I am a little disappointed, although I should have expected that I would not make it into the Shedd Aquarium on Sunday. After three hours of traveling (check out my awesome outfit) my brother and I got there only to find a line that must have been about a 1,000+ people long (it took FIVE camera frames to capture all of the people). I was told the wait was two hours, although it looked somewhere between three and four hours to me!
We were both very disappointed, but I guess Chicago really does turn out for a free day of admission! We ended up going to the Field Museum instead, which was also free on Sunday. There was a very short (2 minute) line to get in, and we got to see Sue the T-Rex.
I made friends with my favorite city birds (pigeons, of course) and got to partake of the marvellous scenery.

All in all, not a lost day, but I REALLY wanted to see the Shedd Aquarum (but I am SO NOT paying $24 a person to get in on a non-free day!).
