(ANS - Rome) - Today the whole Salesian world is celebrating the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians, and so in addition to the liturgical celebrations for the occasion thousands of people will be or are already involved in a variety of festivities.There is a tradition on the occasion of the feast of Mary Help of Christians in the Salesian Family to organise sports or cultural events, musical presentations, processions, concerts and so on.In addition, for Salesian communities this is also an opportunity to recall and to express the confidence that Don Bosco had in the intercession of the Mother of God under the title of “Help of Christians,” a trust that is still today handed on from generation to generation in the various groups of the Salesian Family.
The celebration of this feast has a particular significance in Turin at the Basilica of Mary help of Christians, where this evening the traditional Procession in honour of Don Bosco`s Madonna will be held with Cardinal Severino Poletto, archbishop of Turin presiding.
